What is Crypto Currency?



A crypto- currency is any kind of peer-to-peer digital money powered by the Blockchain technology. Since Bitcoin's appearance in 2009, hundreds of new cryptocurrencies (often called altcoins) have been created, all of which offer different advantages and disadvantages compared to Bitcoin. The Blockchain itself is based on the principles of cryptography, hence the name "crypto- currencies".

What is meant by digital currency?
Digital currency can be defined as an Internet-based form of currency or medium of exchange distinct from physical (such as banknotes and coins) that exhibits properties similar to physical currencies, but allows for instantaneous transactions and borderless transfer-of-ownership.
